Turning an everyday situation into a role play
A communication task can be a more concrete starting point than a broad topic. Choose a small purpose: ask for information, respond to a suggestion or change a plan.

Suggest a weekend activity to a friend. Imagine they prefer another day and give a short response to that suggestion.
