Estimate a range before finding the exact shopping total. An estimate does not replace the answer; it helps check whether the final result is reasonable.

Two items cost 18 TL and 27 TL. Round to the nearest ten for an estimate, then calculate the exact total and change from 50 TL.

The estimate is 20 + 30 = 50 TL. The exact total is 45 TL and the change is 5 TL. The estimate differs from the total, but they are close in size.
