Turning a mistake into a study goal
Replacing a wrong answer with the right one can leave its cause hidden. Identify a specific issue: reading, topic knowledge, calculation or missing checks.
Try it yourself first.
A student gets 30 for 6 + 4 × 3. Explain where the error occurred, then write another calculation using the same rule.
View the solution or example answer
Multiplication comes first: 4 × 3 = 12, then 6 + 12 = 18. The issue is order of operations rather than addition. A new question can check this relationship again.
Your next step.
Add one concrete action to your mistake note. Choose something observable, such as “mark the first operation”, rather than only “be more careful”.
